How it Works

A lithium-ion battery powers an internal heating element that silently warms and activates the repellent. Once activated, the repellent disperses to create an invisible zone of protection that keeps mosquitoes from entering into your outdoor space. And it works continuously, releasing fresh repellent to maintain the zone of protection around you.

A key breakthrough behind Radius’ effectiveness is its repellent formulation. Radius uses an EPA-approved pyrethroid active ingredient. Pyrethroids are based on a naturally occurring repellent found in the chrysanthemum flower. This natural repellent from the chrysanthemum flower has been used to fight insects for millennia – dating back to ancient Egyptian times.

Radius uses an advanced pyrethroid that is highly effective, scent-free and is activated at a low temperature. This enables Radius to create and maintain the zone of protection using lithium-ion battery power. Unlike other area repellents that require intense heat from combustion for activation and dispersion, no flame is required, eliminating the use of candles and liquid fuels.

Thermacell Tick Control Tubes are the no-spray easy-to-apply way to kill ticks in your yard. They harness nature to kill ticks by working with an unlikely ally: the field mouse - turning mice from tick hosts into tick killers. Thermacell Tick Control Tubes go where sprays can’t reach to kill nymphal and larval ticks that may carry Lyme disease. They work best in the states with above average amounts of deer ticks and high rates of Lyme disease.

Simply apply Thermacell Tick Control Tubes two times per year, once in the spring and once in the summer.

Place Thermacell Tick Control tubes every 10 yards around areas mice frequent, such as flower beds, bushes, woodpiles, stone walls, and borders abutting woods or fields. They are easy to apply; there's no set-up or clean-up needed.

Tubes can be applied anytime between April and September, but for best results apply tubes in April and July. The first application kills nymphal ticks that feed in May and June; the second application kills larval ticks that feed in August and September. Tubes may also be replaced when nesting material is completely removed. The tubes and unused cotton are biodegradable and may be left on the property.

*Just two applications are needed for the entire year. Yards with above average amounts of shrubs, tall grass or woods will need up to 20% more tubes.
